Abstract:
This study analyses the theoretical and conceptual framework of mediation and its relationship with entrepreneurship. Mediation, an ancient practice that has evolved into a recognised discipline, represents a fundamental tool for the peaceful resolution of conflicts. In the entrepreneurial context, the role of the mediator closely parallels that of the entrepreneur, as both rely on creativity, communication, and negotiation to overcome challenges. The study, conducted in Lebanon with a sample of 266 entrepreneurs enrolled in incubation programmes, highlights the importance of mediation skills in managing organisational and interpersonal conflicts. The findings indicate that the majority of participants consider these skills essential for maintaining professional relationships, reducing costs, and preserving emotional stability. The integration of mediation training into university curricula is therefore recommended in order to strengthen future entrepreneurs’ capacity to manage tensions, foster innovation, and support sustainable development.
